- Insufficient sample blood was aspirated.
- Insufficient sample blood present on slide.
- Abnormal smearing of sample blood on slide.

| Possible Causes |
- Short sample.
- Blockage in blood aspiration line.
- Leakage in blood aspiration line.
- Viscous or coagulated sample.
- Aspiration pipette blocked or damaged.

| Refining Problem Area |
- Has the affected sample tube volume been checked?
- Hast the affected sample tube been checked for coagulation?
- Does there look like any damage or leakage in the aspiration line?
- Does the piercer look bent or damaged?
- Is there any blood splash in the analyser?
- Is there any blood leakage on the rinse cup?
- Is there any fluid leakage on the top of the sample tube cap?

- Execute multiple smear line rinses.
- Execute shutdown 2 and restart multiple times.
